As an avid backpacker, there have been a few times in my life I’ve felt I reached the end of the world. Here’s one I can drive to. Cambutal Panama!
Even with a mild mixture of hostels, houses, and small hotels, they’ve managed to keep the feel of one of the last best places on earth.
Black sand and lots of privacy. And if you really want to get to the end of the world, any 4×4 in the dry season can take you out to even more beautiful private beaches and jungle wildlife.
There are a couple of cafes close by, sea tortise hatching grounds, surfing, surf board rental, and quiet. Every day!
Hotel Cambutal is my favorite, nice rooms, good inexpensive food, pool, and right on the beach. There are also good hostels for the more adventurous. I love this place!
